📜 About & history
The Pingquan Mosque dates from 1647, beginning as three thatched rooms; Imam Zhang Hongye and his son rebuilt it in 1742, modelled on the mosque outside Beijing's Qihuamen gate. Damaged during the Cultural Revolution, it was restored and reopened after 1978, and is a provincial-level protected relic in the Chengde area, famed for its imperial resort.
