Lintan Old South Mosque

临潭县清真老南寺
📍 Lintan · Chengguan Town 🏛️ 1930s

📜 About & history

Lintan Old South Mosque, also called Ga Nan Si, is named for its position south of the town's upper and lower mosques and belongs to the Jahriyya order. It was built in the 1930s with funds raised by Xian Haishan, Ma Cunde and others as more traders from Zhangjiachuan settled in the old town. Its prayer hall was pulled down in the Cultural Revolution; in 1986 Ma Cunde and local Muslims rebuilt it on the original site in mixed concrete and brick-timber construction, keeping the upturned double eaves, and work finished in 1987.
