By tradition founded in the Tang dynasty, the North Mosque faces east and once had a six-bay prayer hall roofed in green glazed tiles. It was destroyed in the 1645 Yellow River flood that drowned Kaifeng and rebuilt on a new site in 1662 (Kangxi 1). It is counted among the four most historic and famous mosques of urban Kaifeng and was listed as a Henan provincial protected cultural relic in 2008.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
Kaifeng has no metro. City buses to the Beidaomen / Shunhe Hui District area.
Muslim traders congregate at the Dongda Mosque halal food street; the North Mosque is a short taxi ride north within the same Hui district.
In the northern old city, roughly 2 km north of the Drum Tower; 10 min by taxi.
