📜 About & history

Mishi Mosque, the first mosque in Dezhou's history, was founded in 1397 (30th year of the Ming Hongwu era) beside the Grand Canal. It historically received Islamic missions and conducted the funeral of the East King of Sulu. Badly damaged in the Cultural Revolution, when its treasured manuscript of the thirty parts of the Qur'an was burned, it was rebuilt in Ming style between 2014 and 2016 on 1,170 square metres, holding over 200 people. It is a Decheng District protected site.
