A historic Salar mosque inside the Jishi Gorge, celebrated for its dazzling polychrome painted decoration — the whole main hall is richly and orderly colored. It forms part of the Salar mosque architecture group listed as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit on 5 March 2013.

Rural Mengda; reach by taxi or car from Xunhua county town toward Jishi Gorge / Mengda Tianchi.
Xunhua is the Salar heartland; from the county town near Jiezi Grand Mosque, hire a car east to Mengda.
About 30 km east of Xunhua (Jishi) town along the Yellow River toward the Gansu border; combine with a visit to Mengda Tianchi nature reserve.
Deep in the Salar homeland; local Salar hospitality and halal home cooking. Pair with Mengda Tianchi scenery.
