Mapai Mosque stands on a hillside in Mapai Village, about 9 km from the Changchuan township seat, Lintan County, Gansu. The village has 62 Hui households (286 people); tradition says families such as the Zhangs came from Changchuan long ago to tend water mills and settled here. The mosque follows the Yihewani school and has four religious students.
