Lingyuan Mosque

凌源清真寺
📍 Lingyuan 🏛️ Early Qianlong era (Qing dynasty)

📜 About & history

Lingyuan Mosque, on the west side of Beijianchang Street in Lingyuan, was founded in the early Qianlong era of the Qing dynasty and is the oldest mosque in the area. Facing east, it has a main gate, a festooned gateway, a five-bay gabled prayer hall, a moon-viewing tower and side halls with rolled-ridge roofs. A stele of 1816 records that the Kharchin Left Banner prince's household donated land to enlarge the mosque after a Hui doctor cured the prince. It became a county-level protected site in 1981 and was restored by the government in 1982.
