Lhasa Great Mosque (also known as the Hebalin Mosque) was built in 1716 CE and expanded in 1793, chiefly by Kashmiri traders who settled in Lhasa. It was rebuilt after damage in 1959 and reopened for worship in 1978 following other use during the Cultural Revolution.
