Kashgar Mosque stands at the southwest corner of Tuanjie Road and Qianjin Street in Tacheng, facing east. It is one of the larger mosques in Tacheng and serves Uyghur, Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Tatar Muslims. In 2010 the State Administration for Religious Affairs named it an advanced collective in its first national "harmonious places of worship" campaign.
