📜 About & history
Jinchuan Chengguan Mosque on Old Street, Le'wu Town, Jinchuan County, was founded in 1794 (59th year of the Qing Qianlong era) with funds from Hui officers and soldiers who had come with a military campaign. Built in Chinese palace style, it covers 2.5 mu with 1,200 square metres of buildings and keeps 19 Chinese and Arabic plaques. During the Long March in 1935 it housed China's first county-level Hui Soviet government and the headquarters of the Red 33rd Army's independent Hui company. Repaired with State Council funds after a 1989 earthquake, it became a Sichuan provincial protected site in 2007; it has a Long March memorial hall holding Red Army relics graded as national second-class cultural relics and has been named a "national model mosque".
