Hure (Kulun) Mosque

库伦清真寺
📍 Tongliao · Hure Banner 🏛️ Qing dynasty

📜 About & history

Hure (Kulun) Mosque in Nangou, Kulun Town, seat of Hure Banner, was founded in the Qing dynasty more than two hundred years ago. It was first rebuilt around 1912 and badly damaged in the Cultural Revolution. In 1981 the Jirim League government funded its restoration: Imam Wang Bingkun and Hui elders rebuilt the main buildings to their original form and added ablution rooms and a wall, bringing the site to nearly 700 square metres. It is the main place of worship for local Hui Muslims.
