Huihuideng Mosque, a designated National Model Mosque, stands in the Hui village of Huihuideng in Yongjian, whose community dates to Kublai Khan's Yuan-era garrisons. First built in 1253 (Yuan Xianzong 3), it was rebuilt between 1894 and 1897 with a three-storey minaret tower and a palace-style prayer hall seating over 400. A new western hall was added in 1944, and a large-scale reconstruction in 1993 produced what has been described as the largest prayer hall in the whole province. The mosque blends Chinese palatial timber architecture with Islamic form.

Reached by local bus or taxi from Weishan county town toward Yongjian Town; ask for Huihuideng Village.
Yongjian is a heartland of Yunnan's Hui community with plentiful halal food; Arabic-speaking visitors are warmly received.
About 20-30 minutes by car north of Weishan Ancient Town.
