Fuzhou Mosque stands on Bayiqi North Road in the Gulou District, the historic heart of the Fujian capital. Tradition dates its founding to the second year of Zhenguan (628 AD) in the Tang dynasty, making it one of the early mosques of China's southeast coast. After being destroyed by fire it was rebuilt in the Ming dynasty, commemorated by steles of 1407 (Yongle) and the mid-sixteenth century (Jiajing) recording the reconstruction. The courtyard-style complex covers about 3,500 square meters, with a main hall of some 400 square meters ringed by galleries in traditional Chinese style.

Five daily prayers are observed; the Friday midday congregational prayer is the main weekly gathering for Fuzhou's Hui community.

- Line 1 Dongjiekou （东街口）
City buses run along Bayiqi Road through the old city center; check Amap or Baidu Maps for current route numbers.
Centrally located near the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys (Sanfang Qixiang) scenic area; halal food is available in the surrounding old town. A working community mosque welcoming to visitors.
From the Dongjiekou commercial center take Metro Line 1 to Dongjiekou station and walk a few minutes along Bayiqi North Road to the mosque.
