Dongyingzhen Mosque (Daming)

东营镇清真寺
📍 Handan · Daming County 🏛️ Ming dynasty

📜 About & history

Dongyingzhen Mosque is in Dongyingzhen Village, Yingzhen Township, Daming County, Hebei, near the Wei River. Founded in the Ming dynasty, it originally stood north of the village; it was rebuilt under Jin Yuetang in 1864 (3rd year of the Qing Tongzhi era) and destroyed in the Guangxu era. From 1958 the old building served as a school and a club, and it was pulled down in 1979 for Wei River works. In 1980 the present mosque was built west of the village beside the Beijing–Kaifeng Highway on a 2-mu site, with an eight-bay modern prayer hall and a five-room lecture hall. It is run by a democratic management committee.
