📜 About & history
Chaoyangmen Mosque, at the junction of Junzhou Street and Binhe Avenue, covers 2,400 square metres and serves the Muslims of urban Yuzhou. It began in 1281 (18th year of the Yuan Zhiyuan era) as a simple prayer place for Hui soldiers; its main hall was completed in 1536, when it took its present name. The gate was rebuilt in 1986 after the street was widened, and its new Arab-style prayer hall of 1,224 square metres holds over a thousand worshippers.
