上蔡县蔡都清真寺
📍 Zhumadian · Shangcai County 🏛️ 1913

📜 About & history

Caidu Mosque on North Street, Caidu Town, Shangcai County, was founded in 1913 when local Hui pooled funds to buy the Zhou family's house plot. It was rebuilt in 1953 at the initiative of community head Yuan Chonglong and others, then occupied and damaged by a production team during the Cultural Revolution. After 1981 government funds and Hui donations restored the prayer hall, ablution rooms and gate, and in 1992 a two-storey gate tower and an Arab-style minaret were added. A four-bay prayer hall, two ablution rooms and a three-bay lecture hall survive; the congregation numbers 520.
