📜 About & history
Beiguan Mosque is on Xinhua North Road in the Yongshun area of Tongzhou District, Beijing. It succeeds the Niuzuofang Mosque in Niuzuofang Village, Chengguan Township, Tong County, which was founded in the Ming dynasty and restored in the Qing; its gate, north lecture hall and moon-watching tower were demolished during the Cultural Revolution. Because Beiguan became a key construction zone of Beijing's sub-centre, the old mosque was removed and rebuilt on a new site north of the Yongshun town government chosen in 2012. The new Beiguan Mosque opened in January 2014, its floor area enlarged from 1,300 to 1,750 square metres.
