Manzhouli is the largest land port between China and Russia. Opened to international trade in 1992, it has since become a key conduit for bilateral trade. It hosts a 'Mutual Trade Zone' where registered Chinese and Russian citizens can trade tax-reduced goods up to a set value, plus an International Trade City with hundreds of stalls selling furs, leather goods and imported Russian products, while Chinese electronics, machinery, building materials and consumer goods flow north into Russia. Cross-border trade through Manzhouli grew further after 2022 amid rising China-Russia commerce
