Founded in 1938 and run by the Zunyi municipal government, it is the city's second major hospital after the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University. It operates two campuses: Fenghuang in Huichuan District with 2,500 authorised beds, and Taoxi in Honghuagang District with 1,000 beds, together covering about 173,800 sqm. For travellers passing through Zunyi on the Long March heritage route, this is the reference hospital for serious cases.
