Qingzhou

In Shandong province

Qingzhou is a county-level city administered by Weifang in central Shandong, one of the legendary Nine Provinces of ancient China and for centuries a regional political and cultural capital. Its beautifully restored old town of Ming-Qing streets and guild halls is among the finest in Shandong, and the hoard of exquisite Buddhist statues unearthed at the Longxing Temple site is world-renowned. The nearby Yunmen and Tuo mountains hold cliff carvings and grottoes. For an international student, Qingzhou offers deep dynastic heritage, a strollable historic core, Buddhist art treasures and easy links to Weifang and Jinan.
