Fuzhou
Fuzhou in eastern Jiangxi, historically called Linchuan, is renowned as a 'hometown of talents' that produced two towering cultural figures: the Song-dynasty reformer and poet Wang Anshi and the Ming playwright Tang Xianzu, often called the 'Shakespeare of the East.' Both men are honored with memorial halls and a large Tang Xianzu cultural park in the city. Nanfeng County is famous nationwide for its sweet honey tangerines, harvested each winter. The forested Dajue Mountain in Zixi County offers Buddhist temples, gorges and rafting. Fuzhou East station on the high-speed line links the city with Nanchang and the Fujian coast.
