Enshi
Enshi is a mountainous autonomous prefecture in far southwestern Hubei, home to large Tujia and Miao minority populations and some of central China's most dramatic karst scenery. The Enshi Grand Canyon rivals better-known gorges with its sheer cliffs, pinnacles and skywalks, while Tenglong Cave ranks among the country's largest cave systems. Tujia culture is vivid here, celebrated at sites like the Tusi Imperial City and the folk-themed Nvercheng. The cool, misty highland climate is ideal for tea, and Enshi Yulu is a famous steamed green tea. Served by its own airport and railway, Enshi offers cool summers, deep canyons and rich ethnic heritage.
