Changzhou
Changzhou is a prosperous city on the Yangtze Delta of southern Jiangsu, midway between Nanjing and Shanghai on the ancient Grand Canal. A city with over 2,500 years of history, it was a center of scholarship in the Ming and Qing eras and today thrives on advanced manufacturing, from rail transit equipment to solar panels and new-energy vehicles. It is well known for family tourism thanks to the huge China Dinosaur Park and Yancheng theme parks. The 154-metre Tianning Temple Pagoda, one of the tallest wooden-style pagodas in the world, towers over the old town. Served by two metro lines and high-speed rail, Changzhou is a key link in Jiangsu's dense urban corridor.
