ℹ️ About

Taozhou Garrison City, commonly called Xincheng, in Xincheng Village, Xincheng Town, 35 kilometres east of the Lintan county town, was built in 1379 by Mu Ying, Marquis of Xiping, and repaired many times in the Ming and Qing. Divided into front and rear towns and built against a hillside, it forms an irregular rectangle with walls more than 5,400 metres around, covering 2.98 square kilometres, a third of it on the hill. It has five gates, and beacon towers stand on the hills to the north-east and north-west. It became a national key cultural relic site in 2013.
