One of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, founded in 1709 in the town of Xiahe in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It has the world's longest prayer-wheel corridor at about 3 km and is praised as the 'World's Buddhist School'.
