A national 4A scenic area in Laodong Town, Lezhi County, Ziyang, Sichuan, about 15 kilometres from the county seat, honouring Marshal Chen Yi - a Communist military leader, Shanghai's first mayor and later China's foreign minister - who was born here in 1901. The roughly 700-mu site is centred on the Qing-dynasty timber-frame courtyard where Chen Yi grew up, a nationally protected cultural relic, together with a memorial hall and an exhibition hall on his life, and is designated both a national red-tourism site and a patriotic-education base.
