A national 4A scenic area and key cultural relic on the western outskirts of Xuchang, Henan, marking the spot where the general Guan Yu is said to have bid farewell to Cao Cao here before setting off to find his sworn brothers during the Three Kingdoms period - hence its other name, 'the place Guan Yu took leave of Cao Cao'. The 120,000-square-metre complex centres on the stone Baling Bridge (also called Bali Bridge) and a Guandi Temple, with statues and reliefs depicting scenes from the story set among classical gardens.
