The airport is about 15 km from central Datong. No metro; reach the city by airport shuttle bus or taxi (about 25-30 min and 40-50 RMB).

Named after the Yungang Grottoes (a World Heritage site near Datong). Small regional airport with domestic and some regional flights. Datong is a historic tourist city in northern Shanxi.
