📜 About & history
Tonghua Mosque, on Qingzhen Road off Xinhua Avenue in Dongchang District, Tonghua, was founded in 1878 (4th year of the Qing Guangxu era) with funds raised by Ha Yongkui, and became a municipal protected heritage site in 1986. It keeps a "Qingzhen Si" plaque written by Pan Dequan, magistrate of Tonghua County in the late Qing and early Republic. An Islamic association was formed here in 1927 and a mosque committee in 1979. After restoration and extension from 2000, the site now covers 4,436.6 square metres.
